275th Infantry Battalion in Myawaddy Township Captured by KNLA Joint Forces

According to local news sources, the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the People’s Defense Forces (PDF) jointly attacked and captured the 275th Infantry Battalion of the Military Council in Myawaddy Township, Karen State, on the night of April 10th..

The 275th Infantry Division in Myawaddy Township was attacked by KNLA joint forces on April 9th and completely captured around 10:00 PM on April 10th.

Currently, many military junta troops from the 275th Infantry Division fled to Thailand via the Myanmar-Thai border No. 2 Friendship Bridge.

Military junta convoys of armored vehicles, coming from Mawlamyine and Hpa-an to support the 275th Infantry Division, are being intercepted by KNLA and PDF forces.

Although on the morning of April 11th, Myawaddy Township was calm, and residents reported no gunfire. 

Just days before this development,  on April 5th, at 1:00 p.m., the KNLA and PDF joint forces attacked and captured the 356th Infantry Battalion and 357th Infantry Battalion in Myawaddy Township, Thingannyinaung, Karen State.Thousands of Myawaddy residents fled to Mae Sot. which is located on the Thai side.

Thailand has  increased its security along the Thai-Myanmar border.
