Junta Deputy Prime Minister Soe Win, targeted by a drone upon arrival at Southeast Military Headquarters

-

Revolutionary forces launched an attack on military junta Deputy Prime Minister Soe Win and his team using two kamikaze drones as they reached the Southeast Military Headquarters in Mawlamyine township, Mon State.   The facility is equipped with numerous anti-drone systems.

The Alpha Bats Drone Force of the Shar Htoo Waw Technical Department reported that Soe Win and his team were in the midst of conducting an operational command meeting at the Southeast Military Command in Mawlamyine township’s Arakan Kone Ward on April 8, around 5:10 p.m.

A spokesperson from the Alpha Bats Drone Force informed IMNA of the presence of, “Two Kamikazes. As for the after-effects, we are still trying to ascertain the details.”

Following the attack, Deputy Prime Minister of junta Soe Win and the commanders of the Southeast Military Command immediately took refuge in the office, apprehensive of another potential assault.

At around 9:00 p.m., residents of Mawlamyine township reported hearing continuous mortar shell explosions, prompting tightened security measures both within and outside the township.

An information officer with the Alpha Bats Drone Force remarked, “It appears that town units were deployed out of concern for potential incursions by revolutionary forces.”

On April 6th, the KNDO Battalion (6) drone team and Mudon Revolutionary Forces targeted the Deputy Prime Minister of Transport and Communications General Myat Tun Oo and his team with a drone bomb upon their arrival at the Mudon township’s Kawtparan airport and port project.
