Armed and revolutionary organizations protest attack on Kachin military evacuation camp

-

Armed and revolutionary organizations, including the KNU, CNF, DPNS, MSRF, CRPH, NUG, and NLD, all protested the bombing of the Monelaikat village military evacuation camp near Laiza Township in Kachin State.

On October 9, at around 11:30 p.m., the military junta bombed the Monelaikat refugee camp near Laiza Township, Kachin State, killing 29 men, women, and children and injuring at least 57.

The military junta does not discriminate between revolutionary forces and civilians or  children.  Its use of excessive force in bombing and attacking without concern for the loss of life and damage to property, or the impact on the public,  constitutes a war crime announced by Karen National Union (KNU).

The KNU also urged the international community to take the fastest and most effective action against the coup military junta, which continues to commit war crimes.  The KNU calls up to stop providing protection for the junta, and its ability to receive money and weapons.

The Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF) stated that targeting civilians constitutes an inhumane act of genocide, and those responsible must be held accountable for their actions.

The Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) issued a statement strongly condemning the military junta’s ongoing and inhumane violence willfully targeting  civilians.

Kachin Human Rights Watch (KHRW) also strongly condemned the actions of the military junta and called for effective action against organizations and individuals who support the junta’s violence.

The Chin National Front (CNF) issued a statement calling for the international community to protest and punish the military junta by all means for committing war crimes and genocide.

Since the killing of innocent people constitutes a war crime, ethnic armed groups and revolutionary organizations issued a statement calling for international action against the military junta.
