Khattar Nan and Nai Man – According to the China Communist Party’s invitation, United Nationalities Alliance (UNA) will visit China in early June, said Dr Min Kyi Win, joint-secretary of Mon Democratic Party(MDP).
The representatives of UNA who will visit China include each members from MDP, the Zomi National Congress (ZNC) and the Arakan League for Democracy (ALD) and members of the Shan Nationalities Democratic Party(SNDP).
Dr Min Kyi Win continued, “As I know, China has plans to make more investment in Burma and to re-start the Myint Sone Dam Project.”
Nai Tin Aung, vice-chairman of MDP, said that the ruling party in powerful China is China Communist Party and inviting ethnic (political) parties or democratic fronts meant that they might change their main strategy.
“I don’t know what issues will be discussed during the visit but as for us, we will mainly discuss about armed conflicts in the ethnic areas. Second priority is to discuss about issues of human right violation,” continued he.
It was known that Dr Min Kyi Win had already elected as a representative of MDP to visit China.
In the first week of this month, 12 representatives of National League for Democracy(NLD) had also visited China.
Similarly, according to the China Communist Party’s invitation, political parties which contested 2010 elections such as All Mon Regions Democracy Party(AMDP), Shan Nationalities Democratic Party(SNDP), Rakhine National Development Party(RNDP) and National Unity Party(NUP) had already visited China.
