In Karen State’s Kawkareik Township, Ward No. 2, near the Myotawoo Monastery, a grandson and his grandfather were killed. Two others were injured when a mortar shell exploded on a house, reported the local residents.
On November 20, around 10:00 p.m. junta forces, based in Kawkareik fired a mortar shell that exploded in a residential area.
70-year-old U Tun Yin, also known as U Kalar, and his grandson Mg Phyo Min Khant died on the spot, according to a resident.
In addition, U Tun Yin’s son Ko Khant Moe Oo was injured by a bullet and is being treated at Kawkareik Hospital.
On November 4th, around noon, in Kawkareik Township, Ward No. 1, a mortar shell exploded, injuring five family members, including a 3-year-old.
Additionally, on November 2, two women were wounded when a mortar shell exploded in Kawkareik Township.
Kawkareik Township is under martial law and there have been numerous civilian casualties due to the ongoing conflict between the junta and revolutionary forces.
