Two Civilians Dead, Nine Injured Amid Clashes in Kyainseikgyi Township

The Karen Human Rights Group (KHRG) reported that two civilians were killed and nine injured, with several houses damaged, amid fighting in Kyainseikgyi Township, in Karen State.

Joint forces of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) launched an attack on military junta camps in Kyainseikgyi Township on the morning of November 2, which led to intense fighting between the two factions.

In a statement issued on November 3, the Karen Human Rights Group (KHRG) reported the military junta unleashed both mortar shells  and airstrikes on Kyainseikgyi Township.

KHRG reported that two civilians were killed and nine injured due to gunfire from the military junta, with several homes also sustaining damage.

On the morning of November 2, Karen joint forces simultaneously attacked targets in Kyainseikgyi Township, Kawkareik, and military junta camps along the Thai-Myanmar border.

The Revolutionary Joint Forces reported that during the battle in addition to civilian casualties, two members of the Karen joint force, including the deputy commander, were killed. The military junta also sustained casualties.

The Joint Revolutionary Forces also reported that one of their members was killed in the attack on the military junta camp along the Thai-Myanmar border.

KHRG also reported that on October 26, a firefight occurred between the military junta and revolutionary forces near Mawhtataungkhome, close to the Ahzin village in Kawkareik Township, during which two civilians previously abducted by the military junta were injured.
