Policeman Shot Dead in Bilin Township

According to locals, a policeman was shot and killed in Winka Village, Bilin Township, Mon State, on the morning of November 4th.

Policeman Zaw Naing Win, from the Winka Regional Police Station, was at the U Paung Toe pub along the Yangon-Mawlamyine Highway in Winka Village when two gunmen arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire.

“The gunmen came and opened fire while the policeman was in the pub. He died on the spot,” said a resident.

As a result of the shooting, the policeman died at the pub from bullet wounds to the neck, thigh, and elbow where the incident occurred.

According to locals, following the fatal shooting of policeman Zaw Naing Win, military junta members arrived to investigate and then transported his body to Bei Lin Hospital.

According to local residents, policeman Zaw Naing Win was recently transferred to the Winka police station.

In the aftermath of the military coup in Bilin Township, shootings and killings became frequent, targeting not only policemen but also military junta personnel, department staff, ward administrators, political party members, and informants.
