-

According to local residents, a battle between the military junta and the Karen National Union (KNU) has been going on since the morning of November 2 in the town of Kyainseikgyi township, Karen State.

As a result of the battle, the houses were hit by bullets and civilians were also injured, according to the residents, who heard the continuous sound of weapons and had to hide in safety.

A resident of Kyainseikgyi said, “We are hiding as well. The shooting hasn’t stopped. Bullets have been hitting the house, so I didn’t even dare to move.”

As the fighting continues, residents have been advised to remain in safe places and avoid traveling through Kyainseikgyi.

KNU officials reported to the media that on the morning of November 2, joint forces of the Karen National Union simultaneously attacked Kyainseikgyi town, Kawkareik, and military camps along the Thai-Myanmar border.
