Mon State Matriculation Pass Rate Exceeds 56 Percent

Mon State recorded a pass rate of 56.19% in the 2025–2026 matriculation examination, a slight decline from the previous academic year, according to data released by the State Education Office.

Results announced on June 28 showed that 5,924 of the 10,542 students who sat for the matriculation examination in Mon State passed the exam.

In the 2024–2025 academic year, Mon State achieved a pass rate of 57.16%, the highest in the country.

According to the State Education Office, the state’s pass rate for the 2025–2026 academic year fell slightly compared with the previous year, causing Mon State to drop to fourth place nationwide in overall performance.

Among the 5,924 successful students, 569 were from Kyaikto Township, 460 from Bilin Township, 438 from Thaton Township, 389 from Paung Township, 1,740 from Mawlamyine Township, 377 from Chaungzon Township, 158 from Kyaikmaraw Township, 908 from Mudon Township, 616 from Thanbyuzayat Township, and 269 from Ye Township.

The Department of Myanmar Examinations announced on June 28 that 133,673 of the 255,228 students who sat for the nationwide 2025–2026 matriculation examination passed, resulting in a national pass rate of 52.37%.

Mandalay Region recorded the highest pass rate in the country at 62.22%, followed by West Bago Region with 59.60% and Magway Region with 58.39%.

Nationwide, the pass rate for the 2025–2026 matriculation examination increased compared with the previous year. The national pass rate in the 2024–2025 academic year was 48.0%.
