Two men were shot and killed within two days in Kyaikto Township, Mon State, according to local sources.
On April 2, Mg Thiha Soe, around 20 years old and a resident of Mokekhamu village in Kyaikto Township, was shot dead at his home by two gunmen who arrived on a motorcycle.

“People are saying Mg Thiha Soe was killed over a romantic dispute, but the exact motive is still unknown,” a resident said.
The identity of the perpetrators and the motive behind the shooting remain unknown. Residents transported the victim’s body to the Kyaikto Township Public Hospital.
In a similar incident, on the afternoon of April 4, another man U Kyaw Aung, a 50-year-old fish farm owner- was shot dead near the cemetery in Sutpanu village, Kyaikto Township, according to local accounts.
As of now, the attackers and the reason for the killing of U Kyaw Aung have not been identified yet.
Locals expressed concern over the rising number of gun-related killings in Kyaikto Township.
On March 31, another shooting occurred near the PUMA gas station on the Yangon-Mawlamyine highway, close to Moke Palin village. A man named Ko Lin, also known as Anyar Thar and a resident of Ma Yan Chaung village was shot dead, locals reported.
