Administrator Handling Military Duties in Kyaikto Township Fatally Shot

-

On March 24th, the Kyaikto Township Revolutionary Forces (KRF) shot and killed an administrator responsible for military affairs in Taung Kalay Village, Kyaikto Township, Mon State.

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on March 24, U San Lwin, the newly appointed administrator of Kwinkalay Village in Taung Kalay, who had been serving for about a week under the military junta and was tasked with handling military service affairs, was shot while walking from his residence to the village administration office, near Infantry Battalion (2) of the military junta.

“He had only been in office for a week. The previous administrator declined the role, so U San Lwin took over. He was actively engaged in distributing letters to the youth and collaborating with ten household heads,” stated a resident of Kyaikto.

The slain administrator was engaged in the recruitment and issuing of invitations to young individuals from Innwa Village and Kwinkalay Village in the Taung Kalay area.

Moreover, individuals directly involved in enforcing the military service laws of the military junta, whether actively participating or not, faced consequences after the Kyaikto Revolutionary Forces (KRF) declared on March 17th that all military collaborators would be targeted for removal.
