The Police Gate located in Mawlamyine City in the Bo Gone Ward, was the target of a grenade attack on July 27th at 7pm. The front door of the Mon State Parliament office sustained minor damage.
A local resident said, “There were no casualties.”
The attack was carried out by the Federal Freedom UG group.
Following the incident, members of the security team stopped and checked motorcycles and cars at intersections in the area. Increased security and inspections are also taking place at check points into and out of the city.
