No decision made by Mon State Election Commission to pursue claims of voter fraud

-

The Mon State Election Commission has not yet reached a decision to call for charges to be filed against persons thought to have cast more than one ballot in the 2020 general election.

“We have not received any directive on this matter, so we cannot provide any answers yet,” said U Hein Lin Htet, General Secretary of Mon State Election Commission.  He added,  it’s better to contact the UEC directly.

The military’s State Administrative Council (SAC) had widely publicized their intent on social media that voters who voted more than once will be charged under Article 171(D)

“The voter ,whose ID card No. and name and other information appeared on more than one occasion  including advance voting, can face charges,” said the statement.

Thr SAC’s UEC claimed on July 26,2021 that over 11 millions votes from November 8, 2020, were fraudulent. No evidence of this claim has been presented to support this claim, nonetheless the election results were revoked.
