Armed drug dealer shot and arrested in Sone Nathar village

Police in Sone Nathar Village, Ye Township, shot and arrested an armed drug dealer while he was trying to escape on the afternoon of September 12.  

According to a police report, A-Htun (Ka) Htun Naing, a 30-year-old, was allegedly selling drugs in Sone Nathar village. Police and village officials entered his house to make an arrest, but he attempted to flee via his  backyard.  He was then shot in the left hip and arrested.

Police seized a lightweight leather case containing illegal drugs.  This included 690 tablets with a “WY” brand imprinted on the pink tablets, and another 85 tablets with a “R” imprint. 12 silver tablets of an unknown substance and about 150 grams of what was believed to be heroin, were also confiscated.  Police also found a pistol, and a  handgun.  

The 30 years old was charged under Section 19 (K) of the Criminal Procedure Code MY(P) 52/2021.

In  other drug arrests, on September 9, police stopped a vehicle in Mawlamyine where they found  8,580 illegal pills and drugs.  In the vehicle were the following individuals, (Ka) Kalar Pu, 39-years-old, from Zaw Mying,  and Ye Naing Soe (Ka) Kalar, 25-years-old, from Thaton Township, Leikin Ward, Yangon.
