The body of a motorcycle taxi driver with multiple stab wounds was found in bushes below the Taung Yoe Tan View Point in Mayangon Ward, Mawlamyine, Mon State, on the morning of July 2, according to local residents.
The victim was identified as U Aung Hein Oo, 45, a resident of Thiri Myaing Ward in Mawlamyine.

According to residents, U Aung Hein Oo left his home at around 5:30 p.m. on July 1 to work as a motorcycle taxi driver but had not returned by 11 p.m. His family repeatedly called his phone, but although it rang, no one answered.
On the morning of July 2, the family called the phone again. A man who had found the phone answered the call. Family members then searched the nearby bushes where the phone had been found and discovered U Aung Hein Oo’s body.
A source close to the police said the victim had sustained three stab wounds to the right side of his neck.
“There were three stab wounds on the right side of U Aung Hein Oo’s neck. His motorcycle was missing,” the source said.
A social rescue organization transported the body to the morgue at Mawlamyine General Hospital.
Police have opened a murder case under Penal Code Section 302 at Sitke Kone Area Police Station in Mawlamyine and are continuing their investigation into the killing.
