The NLD leads in Mon State

-

Khattar Non – U Ko Ko Zaw, the information officer for the National League for Democracy (NLD), said he is hopeful that Daw Khin Htay Kywe of the NLD will win the parliamentary seat in the House of Representatives (Pyithu Hluttaw) in Moulmein constituency.

“We’re ahead, according to current information. We have a clear advantage in every ward, except those where irregularities occurred,” continued U Ko Ko Zaw.

Current estimates put the NLD in the lead, with the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) following in second place and the All Mon Regions Democracy Party (AMDP) in third, according to an AMDP official.

“The advance voter ballots were all counted in the Township Commission Office. However, today’s ballots could not be quickly counted after voting closed because there are 119 polling stations in Moulmein Township. We have sent our representatives to every polling station. We can’t confirm anything yet,” continued the official.

The NLD retains its leading position in Moulmein constituency despite ballot errors and other campaign problems.
