The Mon State Hluttaw has approved the formation of a new state government comprising seven ministries.
The decision was made on April 6 during the fifth day of the first regular session of the third Mon State Hluttaw.
The parliament approved, without objection, a proposal submitted by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, the military coup leader elected as president, to establish seven ministries and appoint seven ministers.

The seven ministries are: the Ministry of Security and Border Affairs; the Ministry of Planning and Finance; the Ministry of Social Affairs; the Ministry of Electricity, Energy, Industry and Transport; the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation; the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation; and the Ministry of Municipal Affairs.
The list of ministers for the seven ministries will be submitted to the Mon State Hluttaw on April 7 for approval.
During the same session on April 6, the Hluttaw also approved the appointment of the chief minister, seven ministers, the chief justice of the state high court, and four judges.
