In Bilin, Mon State, U San Naing, the ward Administrator for Bo Hla Gyi Ward in Bilin Township, was shot dead by armed men.
According to local residents, the shooting occurred at the “Kan Kaung Ching (Lucky) Yadanar” mattress factory, near Ahlu village, where U San Naing was also working as a factory medic.
Around 9 p.m. on September 6th, six armed men arrived at the factory, forced the security guard to open the gate at gunpoint, and then shot him inside, locals said.

“He was working at the factory as a medic. That night, the armed group entered and shot him,” said a Bilin resident.
Witnesses said he was struck in the chest and back and died on the spot.
It remains unclear which armed group carried out the attack or their motives.
Aside from serving as ward administrator, U San Naing was also Chair of the Bilin Social Relief and Rescue Association.
His funeral was held on the afternoon of September 8th at the Bilin cemetery, where his body was cremated.
Shootings of ward and village Administrators have become increasingly frequent in Mon State. On September 1, a 52-year-old man in Mudon Township was also shot dead in a similar incident.
