Resistance Forces Capture Junta Base in Palaw Township

The resistance forces captured a junta military base in Htamin Masar village, Palaw Township, Tanintharyi Region, on the morning of September 8, according to a statement from the Karen National Union (KNU).

The attack was carried out by joint forces, including the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Brigade 4 units, Karen National Defense Organization (KNDO) Battalion 7, Company 2, Company 5, KNLA special forces, Palaw People’s Defence Force, and allied resistance groups. Fighting began around 7 a.m. and ended with the capture of the base.

The seized junta camp had been manned by troops from Infantry Battalion (IB) 280, Artillery Battalion (309), and personnel from the No. 12 Military Training School, with an estimated strength of over 40 soldiers.
