Administrators resign rather than participate in conscription process

-

According to local news sources, in the northern part of Ye Township, Mon State, some District Administrators have resigned,  because they do not want to cooperate with the military junta’s military service process.

The New Mon State Party (Anti-Military Dictatorship) NMSP-AD announced they will take decisive action against those who cooperate with the military by collecting names for potential conscription into the military.

A member of the village Administration in the north of Ye said, “If we follow the instructions of the military junta in our region, the other group will be punished, and we cannot comply with that. Therefore, some Governors in the north of Ye have resigned from their duties.”

He added that while the orders and instructions of the military junta must be adhered to, there’s also a warning that the revolutionary forces will exert pressure and take action, making it challenging for ward Administrators.

As a result, some ward Administrators in Mon State, close to the area controlled by the revolutionary forces, resigned from their duties.

“The previous Administrator mentioned something similar. Our area is close to the territory controlled by the New Mon State Party. Therefore, if the military junta follows what the New Mon State Party (Anti-Military Dictatorship) NMSP-AD intends, they could take action at any time. So, this is the best time to resign from the post of Administrator,” said another member of the village Administration.

On March 15th, 2024, the New Mon State Party (Anti-Military Dictatorship) NMSP-AD announced that it would take decisive action against the Administrator’s of Kyaikmarraw, Mudon, Thanbyuzayat, and North of Ye, who are both collecting names for military service.

Currently, the New Mon State Party (Anti-Military Dictatorship) NMSP-AD, which has already deployed its troops in some townships in Mon State, has initiated battles with the military junta.
