3 Burmese soldiers including Deputy Battalion Commander, Killed in Kyarinnseikyi Battle

Special Operations Forces (S.O.F), a newly trained People Defense Force, announced that three Burmese soldiers, including the Deputy Battalion Commander of the military junta, were killed during the battle in Kyarinnseikkyi, Karen State.

On 13rd June around 5:30 a.m., a SAC military column, carrying food and ammunition to Kwelonetai Camp in Kyarinnseikyi Township was intercepted by the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and Special Operations Forces (S.O.F) Column 1.

The first column that came up was attacked by snipers, and the two sides fought each other for about half an hour.

During the battle, three SAC soldiers including a deputy battalion commander were killed, and other thirteen soldiers injured.

Independent Mon News Agency has not been able to independently confirm the casualties on the side of the SAC soldiers.

Additionally 5 compatants from the joint force of KNLA and Special Operations Forces (S.O.F) got injuries with explosives but did not danger to their lives.

The SAC military column which had serious injuries during the battle retreated by crossing over the border to Thailand.  

The KNLA issued a notification stating that citizens and vehicles traveling along Highway No. 8, between Mawlamyine Township and Ye Township, should be stopped and inspected by the KNLA. The notification explicitly mentioned that no individuals or materials belonging to the military junta should be transported in the vehicles under any circumstances. Additionally, travelers were advised against riding in vehicles with military junta members or individuals associated to SAC.
