SAC Military Council Troops Continue to Destroy the Roads in Kyaikhto Township

-

According to local residents, the State Administrative Council’s (SAC) military troops continue to destroy the roads in Kyaikhto Township, Mon State.

At the foot of Kyaik Htee Yoe, Kinmunchaung Village, and Saungnainggyi Village, the Chinese Road was destroyed by the SAC’s military council troops on the night of May 19th.

On the night of May 20, the military council troops destroyed the entrance to Winkalaw village again.

They also destroyed the road to Meyonekalay village in Kyaikta Township on the night of May 21.

These roads connected at least 10 villages such as Tadarchaung, Saungnainggyi, and the Kim Moon Camp-Kyuktha Road, connected with the  Winkalaw Village.

Local people are now facing difficulties to travel, as are suppliers of food transportation, and providers of emergency health services.

“These roads are used by local residents. Now that the SAC army has destroyed them, it has become difficult for only the people in this area to travel.” said a Kyaikhto resident.

Locals believe that the roads are in the area controlled by KNU Brigade 1, Battalion 3 in Kyaikhto township.

Military council troops are trying to cut off food, funding, information, and contact with the public.
