Two bombs exploded at around 5:00 a.m. on July 27 in Taungkalay village, Kyaikmaraw Township, Mon State.

According to a local resident, two unidentified men who were riding a motorcycle detonated the bombs while standing in front of the monastery of Taung Klay Village.
After the bombs exploded, two gunshots were fired in front of Ko Bea’s house, — a member of the village electrification committee.
“When I heard the sound, I knew it was a bomb. Two shots were fired, but no one was injured,” said the resident.
Another bomb explosion took place in front of Ko Na Win Monastery on the shore of Kyaikmaraw Township just past 6:00 a.m. on the same day.
On July 24th, two unknown men threw a grenade at a car that a member of the Taung Klay Village Electrification Committee was riding in, but the grenade did not explode.
