Covid Virus Found in Four Students at Ye Primary School

-

Four students at Aung Mingalar ward No. 5 primary school in Ye township have been diagnosed with Covid.

A relief worker from Ye township  confirmed the diagnosis on January 8.

“One child was injured while playing. While being  treated at Mawlamyine Hospital it was revealed the child had Covid. Contract tracing led to confirmation that three more children in his class were also infected with the virus,” he said.

The children reside  in Aung Mingalar Ward in Ye Township and Chaung Taung Village.

The classroom is temporarily closed and those who had contact with the children are being examined.

“The whole school is not closed. Only the classrooms where the children were being taught are temporarily closed. The rest of the classes are open as usual,” said one parent.

To date, 1,900 Covid cases  have been confirmed in Ye Township.
