Following a bomb blast at the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) office on May 11 at around 7 pm, the People’s Defense Forces (Kyaikto) opened fire on the police station in Kyaikto Township.
A security guard was injured in the bombing, and members of the military council responded by randomly opening fire in Kyaikto Township until late at night, according to locals.
The military chased and fired at residents until 8 pm. Three youths were shot in front of No.2 high schools and a rescue worker in Kyaikto Township was hit in the arm. Some office equipment was damaged.
It has now been 100 days since the military coup and during this time trainees from the People’s Defense Forces have raided Kyaikku Township Police Station, according to an online report.Just one day before this incident two explosions occurred near the basic education high school in Mottama, Paung Township on May 10 at around 10 pm, but no one was injured.
