A bomb exploded near the residence of former National League for Democracy (NLD) National Assembly member, Myo Win, in Ye Township, Mon State, at around 2 am. The force of the explosions cracked windows of some nearby houses.
“A bomb exploded at the front of my house at around 2 am last night. The windows of some nearby houses were cracked due to the fragments. I am saddened to hear that there was damage,” U Myo Win wrote on his Facebook page.
According to a person close to U Myo Win, he is no longer living at his home, having fled because the military has been pursuing NLD activists.
“There are only three women at home, including my mother, who is 93 years old. They are peaceful people.” said U Myo Win.
Since the military coup, Ye township has experienced a number of violence incidents.
Another bomb blast took place near the intersection between Lamaing Township and Donphi village roads, yesterday afternoon. According to social media accounts, some people suffered injuries, but details have not been confirmed.
Also, in the early morning of April 25, a bomb exploded at the Ye Township Education Office, shattering six windows. No injuries were reported.
On that same day, a hand grenade and two handmade mines were found in the yard of a Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) member in Abaw Village Tract, Ye Township.
