Newly Appointed Ward Administrators Arrested and Prosecuted in Mudon Township

In Mudon Township, Mon State Three village Administrators from Tagun Daing Village, Shan Ywa (Kamarwet) and Kamarop village tract were arrested on April 29 and are  being prosecuted.

“The newly appointed administrators were arrested last night (April 29). Those who had been appointed, resigned after being charged under Section 505. Because of a rebellion against them. In Mudon Township, Tagun Daing Village, Kamar Op and Shan Ywa (Kamar Wet) also submitted their resignations at the township meeting, ” said a source close to the Administration.

The ward Administrators said they were unable to perform their duties and were then arrested for defamation.

In Mudon Township, which has 42 wards / village tracts, 18 former administrators were re-appointed and 24 new administrators were appointed on 27 February.

Some former Mawlamyine ward administrators who had resigned were arrested by the Military Security Council on the morning of April 29.  Former administrators of Sikke Kone and Shwe Myaing Thiri wards were also arrested.
