The New Mon State Party – Anti-Dictatorship (NMSP-AD) has released the two managers it detained from the Honda Myanmar Plywood Factory located near Kyaik Shwe village, Mudon Township, Mon State.

According to NMSP-AD spokesperson Nai Banya Mon, the two managers were initially detained on November 6, 2024, after they failed to establish contact with the party, as requested by NMSP-AD. The managers were taken for a meeting to discuss this matter and were released on November 8, following two days of detention.
“We have now released the two managers we detained. They were only brought in to meet and discuss the issue. We released them the other day,” Nai Banya Mon told the Independent Mon News Agency.
NMSP-AD has stated that it expects all businesses operating within its territory to establish and maintain communication with the party. Failure to do so may result in further actions.
Nai Banya Mon emphasized, “We regularly meet with business owners in our area, so we ask all business owners operating in our territory to reach out to us.”
In addition to Mon State, NMSP-AD is active in parts of the Karen and Tanintharyi regions and frequently takes action against individuals or entities supporting the military junta, including members of the People’s Defense Forces and local governance informants.
