A man was shot and killed in Zokethoke Village, Bilin Township, according to local sources.
The incident occurred around 9 a.m. on April 23, when U Myit Soe, a resident of Zokethoke Village, was at the Y2K tea shop. Two gunmen arrived on a motorcycle, entered the shop, and opened fire at him.
U Myit Soe sustained gunshot wounds to the head and behind the ear. Although he was rushed to Zokethoke Township Hospital for medical treatment, he later succumbed to his injuries.

“He was shot once in the head and once behind the ear. He was taken to the hospital but passed away while receiving treatment,” a local resident reported.
It remains unclear which armed group carried out the attack or the motive behind the killing. Some residents suggested that U Myit Soe might have been an informant for the police, but this claim has not been independently verified.
Incidents of targeted killings have been occurring frequently in Mon State. According to local reports, at least six men have been killed and one injured in targeted shootings in the region so far in April.
