On August 12, in honor of International Youth Day, young people expressed their admiration and respect for their peers who are actively resisting the military dictatorship.
Since the military coup, the junta has persistently detained, tortured, prosecuted, and killed young people who oppose their rule. In response, many youths across the country have taken up arms to fight against the military junta.
“We have immense pride and respect for the young people who are armed and resisting the military dictatorship. If we don’t resist now, future generations will continue to suffer. Today’s youth are fighting not just for themselves but for the next generation,” said a young man.
According to a young woman, youth unite with revolutionary forces and join the fight against the military junta.
“On this International Youth Day, I urge all young people to collaborate with revolutionary groups and join the fight together. The future of our country is in the hands of today’s youth,” she said.
The youth highlighted that the military coup has not only destroyed their aspirations but also stripped them of many opportunities.
