On January 10th, the Revolutionary Alliance Joint Forces distributed a leaflet urging military junta soldiers in Ye Township, Mon State, to surrender and cooperate.
The leaflet was distributed in various locations, including Ye Township’s Strand Market, intersections, and Kyaung Ywar and Ahsin villages, where military junta troops are often stationed.
Written in both Mon and Burmese languages, the leaflet urged military junta troops to surrender promptly, cooperate with the public, and promised rewards for soldiers who brought their weapons to the revolutionary cause.
Comrade Nai Tala Naing, of the Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF), operating in Ye Township, stated, “If you are working for Min Aung Hlaing’s army, which seized power, you will inevitably face dire consequences. Soldiers who can discern between the wrong side and the truth are joining forces nationwide. Our revolutionary comrades in the PDF (People’s Defense Force) are not advocating for war’s joy; they fight because they oppose the current system. Our campaign is aimed at encouraging soldiers of the military junta, under this flawed system, to surrender and join us.”
According to locals, the military junta soldiers, police, and Administration officials confiscated the leaflets distributed by the Joint Revolutionary Forces.
The surrender campaign was organized by the allied joint forces in the southern part of Ye Township, including the Mon Pyi Revolutionary Army (MSRF), Dawna Army, Guerrilla Army (YGF), and the 1st Battalion of the All Myanmar Students Democratic Front (ABSDF). There are also reports of Mon revolutionary organizations such as the MSRO Ye Air Force (YAF) and Ye Defense Force (YDF collaborating in the campaign.
