The Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO/PNLA) announced that it will continue participating in the people’s Spring Revolution aimed at changing both the system and the era by resisting the military junta and the dictatorship that oppresses, bullies, and treats the public as enemies.
The statement was issued following the PNLO Central Committee plenary meeting held May 11 to 15. The organization reaffirmed its firm commitment to the emergence of a new federal democratic union.
PNLO spokesperson Colonel Khun Aung Mann said the organization had consistently opposed military dictatorship. Although it did not directly participate in the revolution immediately after the coup, it had provided support and assistance to the resistance movement.

“We have supported revolutionary forces and allied groups in the ways we could. We also provided training to young people who joined the movement. At the beginning of 2024, we were able to directly participate in the Spring Revolution, and since then we have continued to be involved. We will keep cooperating with all revolutionary forces across the country wherever cooperation is possible. We will continue to stand firmly by our original position in this revolutionary movement for systemic and political change,” he said.
The organization also stated that it would actively cooperate in efforts to establish a strong, broad-based leadership body capable of representing the revolution as a whole.
“We believe that only by uniting under a strong and broad leadership structure — whether in the form of an alliance or coalition force — will we be able to uproot the deeply entrenched military dictatorship,” Colonel Khun Aung Mann added.
The PNLO further said it would cooperate in delivering humanitarian assistance to all people affected by war, including the Pa-O population and other ethnic communities, as well as support efforts that assist the revolution.
According to the statement, an emergency meeting of the Central Committee and commanders from the PNLO’s third conference term decided to expel Khun Okkar, Khun Min Thein, and Nang Yin Yin Soe from the organization for violating the group’s principles and constitution. The three expelled members will have the right to appeal at the fourth conference.
When contacted regarding the matter, Colonel Khun Okkar responded only that he was taking a one-month break from giving interviews.
The Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO/PNLA) is a Pa-O armed group that signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA). Following the military coup, it has been cooperating with revolutionary forces in armed resistance against the military junta.
