PPP Mon State chair and members missing on Ye road

-

The People’s Pioneer Party (PPP) Mon State chair and several party members have gone missing while traveling to Ye Township for party activities, according to sources close to the party.

The group, led by the PPP state chair, was traveling from Kyaikto to Ye around 2 p.m. on September 10 when contact was lost along the Thanbyuzayat–Ye road.

“We lost contact with them along the way. We heard that a message was sent via Viber saying that an armed group had arrested them,” said a person close to the PPP Mon State branch.

Those missing include PPP Mon State Chair Daw Mya Thida, party members U Hein Lin Aung and Daw Khin Thida Kyaw, as well as another woman.

When IMNA contacted revolutionary forces active in the Ye area regarding the disappearance, they said they had no information about the incident.

The People’s Pioneer Party (PPP), led by Dr. Thet Thet Khine, cooperates with the junta commission and plans to contest the upcoming nationwide election organized by the junta.
