Hpa-An District, Karen National Union (KNU) territory, a basic education middle school under the Karen Education and Culture Department (KECD) in Nawngtakhe village, Paingkyon Township, was attacked by a kamikaze drone launched by the Junta Commission on the morning of September 3, according to the KNU.
The strike occurred around 9:50 a.m. on September 4, deliberately timed while children were attending classes, the KNU said in its statement.
The attack injured one female teacher, one male teacher, and a young student. The school office was also damaged by the explosion.
The KNU condemned the attack as a deliberate assault on an educational institution under its administration.
