The New Mon State Party-Anti Dictatorship (NMSP-AD) ambushed a military junta convoy traveling on the Mawlamyine-Thanbyuzayat highway between Yaungdaung and Kwanhla villages in Mudon Township, Mon State.

The ambush occurred at approximately 7:00 AM on January 13, targeting three junta vehicles en route from Mawlamyine to Thanbyuzayat.
According to an official statement released by the NMSP-AD later that evening, multiple junta personnel were reportedly killed or injured in the attack, though the exact number of casualties has yet to be confirmed.
The statement also revealed that the convoy came under mortar fire as it reached Thanbyuzayat, further intensifying the assault.
This is not the first time the NMSP-AD has targeted military movements along this critical route. In June, the group ambushed a vehicle carrying junta personnel near Yaungdaung village, resulting in the death of a high-ranking Warrant Officer.
The NMSP-AD, which split from the New Mon State Party (NMSP), has been coordinating with other armed resistance groups to conduct military operations, focusing on areas in Mon State, including Kyaikmaraw, Ye, and Mudon Township.
