Three prisoners from Ye Police Station in Ye Town, Mon State, have reportedly reached the Ye Blue Armed Group, according to sources from the group.

On the morning of February 1, a shooting incident occurred inside the detention cell of the Ye Township Police Station, during which several prisoners escaped. Three of them managed to reach the Ye Blue group.
A representative of the Ye Blue group said, “Three of those who escaped have reached us. We are making efforts to rescue the others as well. They were arrested and charged with political offenses.”
According to the Ye Blue group, the prisoners who escaped and reached them had been arrested by the military junta under anti-terrorism laws, which carry the possibility of a death sentence.
At around 9:00 a.m. on February 1, an exchange of gunfire took place at the Ye Township Police Station in Thiri Khaymar Ward. The incident occurred when prisoners seized firearms from police officers who were delivering meals, leading to a shootout between the two sides.
During the clash, three police officers—Sub-Inspector Nai Lwin Oo, Police Corporal Myint Htun, and Police Private Kyaw Swar Htet—were killed. Additionally, Police Captain Myint Oo sustained severe injuries from a gunshot wound and is currently receiving medical treatment at Ye District People’s Hospital.
Following the incident, military junta troops sealed off Ye Town and the Mawlamyine-Ye-Dawei Union Highway. Security forces have set up roadblocks and are conducting searches to recapture the escaped prisoners.
A resident of Ye Town also reported that the military junta’s forces—including the army, police, People’s Militia, and Pyu Saw Htee groups—are conducting widespread guest list inspections across the town’s neighborhoods.
