A junta launched a drone attack on the Ban Law village tract in Tanintharyi Township, resulting in injuries to an elderly woman and damage to several houses, according to reports from a war refugee assistance group.
On October 8, around noon, the junta military dropped more than 10 bombs on West Ban Law village, which had no ongoing conflict at the time. The drone strike inquired a 62-year-old woman.
“The situation was terrible yesterday. The military dropped bombs from drones in Ban Law, and a woman was hit in the cheek. Houses were damaged as well. The woman’s injury isn’t life-threatening, but she suffered facial wounds,” said a member of the Nway Oo Myittar (Spring Love) aid organization.
Following the drone strike in West Ban Law, the junta military also launched four more bombs in East Ban Law.
On October 2, a 6-year-old child in the village of West Maw Tone was killed in a bomb strike by military forces.
Since September of this year, the military junta has been increasingly using drone strikes in Tanintharyi Township, targeting areas where they suspect resistance forces might be present. These attacks have resulted in rising civilian casualties and deaths, according to residents.
