Intensified Clashes in Mon State: Six Junta Soldiers Killed

-

Mon State, Ye Township—A fierce battle in Myoehaung village resulted in the deaths of six military junta soldiers, with numerous others wounded, according to the New Mon State Party (NMSP-AD).

On August 8, approximately 120 junta troops launched an attack from their Mawkanin base, clashing with joint revolutionary forces as they advanced into Myoehaung village. The conflict persisted, with another skirmish reported on August 9, around 2 PM. Additionally, junta forces from Kaninkamawt have been mobilizing further assaults towards the village.

In the aftermath of the clashes, junta troops reportedly detained around 10 civilians, looting homes, shops, and even setting fire to a vehicle at the Mon National School.

Tensions remain high along the Ye-Thanbyuzayat-Dawei road, with increased military activity as junta forces attempt to reclaim control over key routes and suppress revolutionary movements. The situation remains volatile, with further escalations expected.
