On January 29, the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) announced its intention to engage in discussions with relevant organizations to address the political challenges in Myanmar, aiming to resolve them through dialogue.
This statement was made during the press release of the annual meeting, which took place from January 26 to 28 at the headquarters of the RCSS.
The issues facing the Union of Myanmar can only be resolved through the establishment of a federal democratic union. ASEAN is also urged to intervene earnestly in addressing the political crisis.
Additionally, the statement emphasized the commitment to long-term efforts aimed at strengthening national unity in Shan State. It also outlined plans to intensify anti-narcotics operations, prevent online money fraud, and combat human trafficking within the areas under RCSS control.
The RCSS, having signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), is currently involved in peace processes.
