Woman Injured by Military Junta’s Mortar Shells

A woman was injured, and three houses were damaged by mortar shells fired by Military Junta Infantry Battalion 97, based in Kawkareik Township, Karen State, as announced by the KNU Center.

On October 3rd, around 8:00 p.m, Military Junta Infantry Battalion 97 fired mortar shells three times into Anhpagyi village.

A mortar shell fired by the military junta hit the houses of Daw Mae Tin Aye (56 years old), Mg Mya Aye (55 years old), and Mg Thein Thin Tin (60 years old) in Anhpagyi village.

Daw Mae Thin Aye was injured, and three houses were damaged due to the mortar shell explosion.

The military junta troops operating in the KNU-Dooplaya District Brigade (6) are arresting innocent people without reason and subjecting them to torture. They are also breaking into homes, confiscating belongings, and intentionally firing mortar shells into residential villages, as reported by the KNU.
