On the morning of April 5th, a military council sergeant was shot near Ingapo Village, Kyaikhto Township, in Mon State. The shooting took place alongside the Yangon-Mawlamyine highway.
Sergeant Kyaw San, a member of the State Administrative Council Military, was stationed at Letpant graveyard in Ingapo village. He was shot and killed by joint forces of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and Kyaikhto Revolutionary Force (KRF) at approximately 6:00 a.m. on April 5th.
According to local sources, Sergeant Kyaw San was believed to be in charge of the military council army stationed at the Letpant graveyard in Ingapo village.
“A gunman shot him in the head when he was buying betel nuts at a shop near the petrol station close to the Letpant graveyard,” he said.
The Kyaikhto Revolutionary Force announced that a hand grenade, phone, motorcycle and wristband was first seized from Sergeant Kyaw San.
According to local residents, Sergeant Kyaw San, was believed to be responsible for firing heavy weapons at the nearby villages. However, there has been no independent confirmation of this claim yet.
Sergeant Kyaw San’s body was sent to the Kyaikhto Township Public Hospital.
According to local residents, after the shooting military council troops conducted a search and inspection of the block.
