A man was killed in a motorcycle and car collision that occurred in front of the 2500 monastery in Maung Sein Ward, on the Mawlamyine-Ye main road, in Thanphyuzayat Township, Mon State.
On July 27th, around 3:00 p.m. a man driving a motorcycle overtook a car and was unable to control his speed.
A member of the rescue association Ko Ye Min Htike said, “When we arrived at the scene, he was in the middle of the road, surrounded by both motorcycles and people. He suffered severe head injuries.”
The victim, a resident of Kamawe died on the spot. His body was transported to Thanphyuzayat Hospital (mortuary) by the rescue association.
Ko Ye Minthai said, “When he overtook the car, the car on the other side didn’t move to let him pass, so he got stuck between the two cars and they didn’t stop.”
