The owner of a gold shop was shot dead during a robbery that occurred around 11:30 pm on May 9. The shop known as “Ah Man Gold Shop” is located next to Bogyoke Road Village Administration Office, Mokkanin Village, Ye Township, in Mon State.
U San Yu (b) U Maung Yoe, the owner of the shop was taken to Mawlamyine Hospital.
“They did not take anything from the shop but the shop owner was shot, ” offered a local source.
Two men arrived on a motorcycle in the afternoon, threatened to rob the shop, and then shot the shop owner. They then quickly fled the scene.
The authorities are investigating the incident but at the time of publication , the identities of the two men remains unknown.
