The Covid-19 virus has been found in four people, including a pre-school (KG) student and a primary school student at Paung Township, Mon State.

In addition, a 70-year-old man living in Paung Ward was diagnosed with Covid-19 on January 26 at the Fever Clinic, Paung Township People’s Hospital.
A relief worker said, “45 teachers from the Basic Education Primary School of Kanna and a number of students had been tested and all had negative results for the virus.”
However, he added that while checking on the condition of family members, a 40-year-old man, a 9-year-old student and a 5-year-old pre-school girl were diagnosed with the virus.
The first test came back negative, but when a second PCR test was administered it came back positive. PCR stands for polymerase chain reaction and the test detects genetic material from a specific organism, such as the Covid virus.
Covid has been confirmed in four patients who have been referred to the Isolation ward in Paung Township for treatment. All four are in good condition and do not require intensive care treatment at this time.
Last January, a teacher at Kyar Bo Branch High School in Paung Township was diagnosed with Covid 19 virus, and a total of 11 students, including family members, were infected with the virus.
