A bomb exploded near the office of the Military Security Affairs Force (MSAF) in Kyaikhto Town, Mon State, on July 8.

The explosion took place at the back of the MSAF Office, on ZayarMon (1) Street.
“I heard people talking that it (the bomb explosion) occurred near the railway road where the grenade was thrown at the back of the [MSAF] office. I do not know if anyone was injured. It is like every 4 days that we have a bomb blast here in Kyaikhto. The other day, a house of the USDP (Union Solidarity and Development Party) was targeted,” said a local from Kyaikhto Town.
Following the incident, army soldiers and police forces were present and the evening market was also closed.
Since the military coup, there have been roughly 10 bomb blasts in Kyaikhto Township.
