One of two people was killed in a shooting incident in front of No.2 Middle School, Ye Township, Mon Township, Aung Metta Ward on June 14 at 3pm.

“At the end of school, [the ward administrator] was clearing the road for children when he was hit in the arm by gunfire, and another person, a village elder and former soldier, was also struck by gunfire. He died of a gunshot wound to the head,” said a resident from Ye Township.
A resident of Aung Metta ward told the Mon News Agency that, “I heard two gunshots. One of the dead was a veteran. The ward office is also known as a village elder. The administrator was newly appointed by the military.”
On May 25,a grenade was thrown at the ward administrator’s office. There were no injuries On June 3, a grenade was hurled at No.2 Middle school near the ward office, but it failed to explode.
On May 19, Ko Kyaw Min Tun (b), a resident of Aung Thu ward, was arrested with a hand grenade, according to the State Administration Council (SAC).
