Kyae Goe and Pakao More : The New Light of Myanmar, a government owned newspaper, has produced a thus far incomplete list of the winning candidates for the November 7th elections in Mon State. The results show the United Solidarity and Development Party (the Burmese government’s proxy party) to be the election winners of all three assemblies [parliaments]: National, People’s, and State.
The current results displayed by The New Light of Myanmar show three Mon candidates from the All Mon Regions Democracy Party (AMDP) winning in the People’s Parliament, three winning in the National Parliament, and six in the State Parliament.
The latest outcomes show three Mon (AMDP) party members to have won out of 60 candidates, while the USDP won 47 (78%) places for the People’s Parliament. As for the National Parliament, three AMDP members received seats, while one National Unity Party (NUP) candidate won, and nine (69%) USDP candidates won. Within the State Parliament, out of a total of 109 seats, six AMDP candidates won, while 84 USDP candidates took seats. The other parties to have won seats were one from the NUP, one from the 88 Generation Student Youth, one from the Karen People’s Party, and one from the Rakhine National Development Party.

USDP: pre-vote – 20, 264, regular vote – 210, 533
NUP: pre-vote – 9,043, regular vote – 160, 896

Mon Party: prevote – 2632, regular – 103,149
USDP: prevote – 15781, regular – 113, 922
NUP: prevote 1012, regular – 47, 870
