Coup leader Senior General Min Aung Hlaing has awarded the Wunna Kyaw Htin honorary title to Nai Layi Tamah (also known as Nai Khin Maung Zin), a member of the Mon State government, according to an announcement released on March 2nd.
Following the coup on February 21st 2021, the military council appointed Nai Layi Tamah, who serves as Joint Secretary (1) of the Mon Unity Party, to the Mon State Administration Council. He is currently serving as the Minister for Economic Affairs in Mon State.
Nai Layi Tamah also contested in the 2025–2026 election for a State Hluttaw seat under the proportional representation (PR) system and won, becoming an elected state parliament representative.

In addition to Nai Layi Tamah, the military leader awarded the Wunna Kyaw Htin honorary titles to a total of 128 individuals, including Security and Border Affairs Minister Colonel Kyaw Swar Myint, Minister for Natural Resources Dr. Aung Myat Kyaw Sein, Minister for Transport U Tin San Naing, Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Khin Maung Oo, and Attorney General U Myint Aung.
According to the March 2nd statement, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing also awarded the Zeya Kyaw Htin title to Major General Kyaw Lin Maung, the Commander of the Southeast Command, based in Mawlamyine.
The Wunna Kyaw Htin honorary title is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding service for the public good, while the Zeya Kyaw Htin honorary title is typically conferred upon distinguished members of the military for exemplary service.
