The Mon Literature and Culture Association of Technological University (Mawlamyine) will hold a Ruby Jubilee celebration to commemorate its 40th anniversary, according to reports.
The celebration will take place at the university’s assembly hall on October 2, 2025 (24 Tawthalin 1387 ME), from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

“The Mon Literature and Culture Association of Technological University (Mawlamyine), established in 1985, will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2025. To mark this milestone, the association will host a Ruby Jubilee event at the Technological University (Mawlamyine) campus,” said a representative of the Mon Literature and Culture Association.
During the celebration, the program will include donations to monks, cultural performances such as traditional songs and dances, the presentation of awards to active association leaders, welcoming of new students, and recognition of graduating students.
In addition, students who successfully pass the first-level Mon Literature and Translation examinations in 2025 will be honoured with awards during the event.
“The anniversary celebration will feature a grand opening ceremony, cultural performances, recognition of sponsors, and the crowning of the King and Queen of the Ruby Jubilee,” the association stated.
According to reports, the Ruby Jubilee is being organised with full coordination from university faculty, students, and the local community, ensuring a grand and well-managed event.
The Mon Literature and Culture Association of Technological University (Mawlamyine), established in 1985 and originally affiliated with the Graduate Technological Institute (GTI), has continued its activities since its founding, maintaining a strong tradition in Mon literature and culture.
The association was restructured at the old school in Yogo Village during the 2018–2019 academic year before establishing itself at Technological University (Mawlamyine).
Since its founding, the association has actively carried out programs and activities, regularly organising events, cultural performances, and educational initiatives to promote Mon literature and culture.
