Mon National College (MNC) and Chiang Mai University (CMU) are set to launch their first academic exchange program, to be held on the Chiang Mai University campus in Thailand.

Through this program, Mon National College aims to advance higher education and sustainable social development. The exchange, scheduled from November 18 to November 27, will last ten days. Participants will be accommodated at the Regional Center for Social Science and Sustainable Development within Chiang Mai University’s Faculty of Social Sciences.
Six students, selected by MNC officials, will participate in this exchange. These students recently graduated from Mon National College in the 2024-2025 academic year.
MNC students participating in the program will receive financial support for meals, accommodation, and other expenses, with funding provided by the Henry Luce Foundation and the Regional Center for Social Science and Sustainable Development.
The collaboration between Mon National College and the Regional Center for Social Science and Sustainable Development began in 2023. This partnership will continue through July 2027, aiming to strengthen Mon Studies, build MNC’s research capacity, and promote additional student exchanges with Chiang Mai University.
In addition to this program, Mon National College and Purdue University in Fort Wayne, USA, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on November 7 to collaborate on higher education initiatives. MNC is also set to sign an MOU with Rajabhat University in Chiang Mai, Thailand, in mid-December.
Mon National College, located in the Yechaungpya region of Mon State, officially opened in June 2022 and currently has around 300 students enrolled across various academic fields.
